Each playable character has a single special ability that can give the player advantage at a critical moment. For example, Ranger has a portable teleporter, Visor can temporarily see opponents through walls, and Scale Bearer can execute deadly charges. However, victory or defeat is determined primarily by the players' skills the devs even reward the use of classic techniques such as bunny hopping or rocket jumping (the latter is favored by the vertical construction of levels, with platforms and trampolines). Technology Quake Champions is powered by id Engine 6, which guarantees nice visuals with relatively low hardware requirements. In addition, the developer boasts 120 Hz gameplay and no limit on the number of animation fps which is to emphasize the e-sports pedigree of the title.
