A continuation of IL-2 Sturmovik – an airplane battle simulator set in World War II. PlotIL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad yet again takes players to the reality of the greatest war in human history. The story takes place between 1942 and 1943 and focuses on the Battle of Stalingrad. Creators chose this period by no coincidence, for the result of this battle had a large impact on the situation of both Soviet and Nazi armies, as well as the entire Eastern Front. The game starts with the Operation Uranus and ends with the destruction of the German 6th Army. In between, one also participates in the Winter Storm Operation that took place in December 1942.
