Brawlout is a 2.5D brawler designed for PS4, SWITCH and etc.. The game was developed by Romanian studio Angry Mob Games, best known to fans of mobile games. Previously, this developer created such titles as Toysburg and Alien vs. Predator: Evolution. MechanicsBrawler is best compared to Super Smash Bros. – a famous games series from Nintendo. This is a crossover between a brawler and a platform game, in which you fight other warriors on small arenas filled with various rock formations and simple structures that you can jump onto. The core gameplay is obviously based on combat. In order to win you have to push your opponent off the ledge down to the ground or reduce their energy to zero. The developer has prepared several unique heroes, each one featuring a unique set of stikes – individual attacks can be developed and modified as you continue to earn experience. The character roster includes e.g. an agile monkey, who uses a chain to pull enemies, or a Yeti, able to freeze his opponents. Besides, each hero has a deadly attack, called Rage, which can be launched after filling a special energy bar in combat. Game modesThe PS4, SWITCH and etc. version of Brawlout offers single player story-based campaign, however, the game’s main thrust is multiplayer (both local and online) for up to eight players. Technical aspectsReleased for PS4, SWITCH and etc., Brawlout is a 2.5D game, which means that both character models and environments are built in 3D, but the warriors move in two dimensions only. The game looks decent at best – individual locations lack eye-catching details. Besides, although the warriors are well animated, in terms of stylistics and care for detail they fall short of Super Smash Bros. released on Wii U.
