House of Ashes is the subtitle of the third instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology series. Like the two previous parts of the series, Man of Medan and Little Hope, this is a horror adventure game. The game was developed by Supermassive Games studio and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Plot The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes takes us to the Middle East, to be precise, to a region reminiscent of the Afghan Hindu Kush. In the course of the game, we are following the fate of American soldiers who, while exploring the ancient undergrounds, awakened the ancient evil. MechanicsJust like in the two previous parts of the series, in The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes we observe the action from cinematic shots. During the game, we can take control of several characters who travel through various locations, solve environmental puzzles and face various challenges from arcade to battles and escape from adversaries. How their fate will turn out, and which protagonists will survive or how (and when) they will die, depends on what we do and what choices we make. Game modes The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes allows you to play alone, in online co-op mode or as part of the Movie Night, where players in front of one screen control selected characters. Technical aspectsThe Dark Pictures: Little Hope has high quality graphics. The appearance and voices of the characters were given by real actors, including Ashley Tisdale.
