The girls want to follow their father's footsteps and study alchemy. The process of learning, however, is not at all simple. One day, during their training, the girls hear weird noises coming from the basement. In spite of their father's prohibition, the protagonists decide to investigate the source of these sounds. They discover that it is a magic painting, inside of which there is an entirely new world filled with precious alchemy ingredients obtaining which would make it much easier for the girls to succeed. During the game, players can freely switch control between Lydia and Suelle. Another key element is the ability to travel to a given world from a painting and using the objects and pieces of information found there to solve problems in the main protagonists' homeworld. In combat, players get to command not only the titular sisters but also other members of the team. During the turn-based battles, one is bound to utilize the gear crafter by the main protagonists.
