Game description:
HROT is an old-school FPS set in communist Prague. It was developed by independent developer Spytihn?v. PlotHROT takes us on a journey to Czechoslovakia. In 1986 there was a mysterious cataclysm, after which the population of Prague hid in an underground shelter. The main character of the game is a soldier, who wants to do his duty, has to go out on the city streets and face strange intruders, ignoring the shortage of equipment (at first, he has only a worn-out pistol and a non-functional gas mask). MechanicsIn HROT we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). A number of grim levels inspired by real locations await you to explore. The communist era atmosphere is reflected not only by the grey colour scheme of the locations and the characteristic architecture, but also by the interior design elements, objects and accessories encountered along the way. Exploring new stages, we complete tasks and face numerous enemies. We eliminate them, making use mainly of firearms. We have both pistols and shotguns as well as more sophisticated tools of murder such as rocket launchers or experimental Soviet weapons, including the lightning launcher. And if you run out of ammo, you can save yourself by killing with a sickle and hammer. Technical aspectsHROT operates on the basis of original technology imitating graphic engines from the nineties of the twentieth century. Thus, the graphic design of the game is not very impressive, but it fits well with the theme of the game.
