Anna is an adventure game with fully 3D graphics. It is the debut production of Dreampainters, an Italian development studio. The action takes place in the Italian part of the Alps, namely nearby an old sawmill located near the village of Champoluc. As a man plagued by nightmares of this place, we have to uncover the mystery of the building which is being haunted by the eponymous Anna, a kind of a poltergeist. The story presented in the game is full of uncertainties which intensifies the unique, dark atmosphere of this title. What is interesting, it is based on the old legends told to the developers by the village locals. Anna is a first-person perspective point ?n? click game, so the gameplay involves mostly exploration of the surroundings of the sawmill and solving puzzles. We may interact with the items found in the building and use them to advance the plot. There are four major locations to visit, all having a horror feel to them and changing with our progress. The puzzles often refer to dark rituals and recurring symbols, presenting quite high difficulty level. Anna is rather short, although it is compensated by three different endings, depending on the choices we have made throughout the game. The game has fully 3D graphics powered by the Unity engine. The developers carefully recreated real locations on the basis of personally taken photographs and movies. The soundtrack was composed by a gothic band called Chantry.
